Merilyn Swan - Dec 28, 2017
Before doing business with this retailer rad my comments. The staff are rude, and seem to think they are exempt from ACCC Law when it comes to consumer's rights. I purchased a watch for Christmas for my father. It didn't work. When I tried to return it the salesperson on December 26th 2017 but Mohammed claimed it was the battery and replaced it. The watch worked for about 2 hours then stopped again. I tried to return it again on December 27th, but when the watch was shaken the hands began to move. Mohammed claimed it was now working. Today, December 28th, I have again tried to return the watch for a refund as it doesn't work. I had the receipt as proof of purchase and a copy of my ACCC rights to a refund. Mohammed told me to put my ACCC rights in the bin and the watch had a 18 month warranty, and it would be repaired, not replaced or a refund given. This is in breach of ACCC law. He also said I could take up the issue of the watch not working with the manufacturer and go to the ACCC rather than he giving me a refund, all in breach of ACCC laws. He called security , threating to have us thrown out of the Chatswood Chase Centre. Security arrived, listened to Mohammed's claims, then read the ACCC laws, and agreed a full refund was due. Only threatening to spend the rest of the day outside this business to discourage other customers doing business with this trader resulted in me getting my refund. I repeat. BEWARE OF USING THIS RETAILER IN CHATSWOOD CHASE. They are either ignorant or choose to ignore the consumers' rights under Australian Law. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this retailer
