The Worst customer service I have ever had to date! My phone had died, and while a nuisance, the main concern I had was for all the pictures I had foolishly never backed up. When I bought a new phone, and attempted to transfer the pictures from my SD card to the phone and my computer, only about 50 were retrievable (out of the last 4 years), all the rest stuck in the LOST.DIR files. I left my phone with the phone mechanics to see if it was an easy fix, they said unfortunately it was not. They assured me though, that they would be able to retrieve all the unreadable picture files right off of my SD card (on which all the pictures were saved) and put them conveniently on a USB. I naively believed that I was leaving it in the hands of an honest, and reputable company. When I went to pick up the USB, I found my phone completely taken apart and in tiny, tiny bits and pieces....fine, I guess that is what they need to do to test it, but they did not mention this. I arrived home excited to test the USB. It was the COMPLETE copy of all the files I was ALREADY able to access through putting the SD card into my computer. 50 pictures, for $120, and.....my original SD card was now where to be found! I immediately contacted them to let them know that 1-there had been no data retrieval, and 2-Where is MY SD card? I was told to come in and hat they had found my card. They said that the confusion was that it had never worked in their computer, so they thought the data recovery had been performed by finding some alternate adapter (BS right?!) Fine, maybe it didn't work (sure), I just wanted my SD card back. I picked it up and quickly returned to work to test it....wow, it WORKS! And.....it is the collection of a couple I have never met, and full of memories I am sure they were never intending to share on my office laptop. Okay, I have been really trying up to this point to give them the benefit of the doubt, but getting to the end of my rope. I have to play nice though, because I really want MY original SD card back in MY hands. I was finally able to arrange a swap. I took in my laptop, just to make sure the SD card they had this time was mine. Lo and behold, another SD card, that they had just lefts in the drawer, was in fact mine, and absolutely did in fact work! I took the time to show the manager the files on the card, compare them to the files on the USB, and the group of LOST.DIR files (that had still been left uncovered)...and all the while, he keeps jetting off to other customers to sell phone cases, etc. (At this point I am going to be late for work, but I just really want a refund for services NOT rendered) I mentioned that I appreciated all they had tried to do, but in fact, nothing actually had been done and I was left with an 8GB USB they provided with all of the pictures I already had had accessed too. I was told that they could not re-sell the USB because they had "Opened the box" and in fact their time had been spent transferring the pictures, so really, that was $120 worth of work. After trying to hold my ground, and just let them know I simply wanted a refund, they then offered to try to continue to fix my phone for another $250 and resell it (WHAT?!) and if not, all they would offer was a $60 CREDIT...because really ""I got a good deal because of the new 8GB USB is worth money" (We all know we can get one for $10 or less on ebay or your nearest post or Woolies). I had spent too much time trying to be rational with this ineptitude, I needed to get back to work, and actually, I had my OWN SD card in hand...So fine, forget the refund, I am returning to work with nothing. I asked for an email, name or number for the company owner or boss, but was given more run around. I guess I just have to chalk it up to a really bad experience, a lesson learned: BACK UP YOUR STUFF more often, and hopes that when I do find a reputable place, they can in still help me retrieve those unreadable files on my card. I would be remiss though if I did not leave this review... Do yourselves a favour: ask around, do some research if it is data or storage or anything meaningful that you are after.....and do NOT bring it to these guys! Oh, unless you just want your pictures saved in a drawer and passed around.
