I recently wanted to switch from Optus to Telstra for my mobile (not sure why)and went to the Telstra Shop in Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. There was a young lady at the door with a laptop supposedly identifying the query and supposedly assigning it to someone in the shop. This seems to be the norm now with all Telstra shops. There was 7 staff in the shop all on their laptop busy doing whatever they were doing except serving customers. Not one customer was in the shop whilst I was amongst 4 other people queuing outside the door into the shopping entre isle waiting for the door lady to allow us the privilege to see one of the 7 geniuses with their laptops. The problem was that the nice door lady was actually discussing the issue that the first guy in the queue had rather than passing him to one of the very busy executives on their laptops. Having waited over 10 minutes at the back of the queue enviously wanting to talk to one of the geniuses with the laptop I lost my patience and asked the door lady if she could get someone else to attend to the 5 people that were queuing outside the door to get in. That did not go down very well as I was reprimanded for not seeing that she was very busy trying to help the customer. When I suggested that she is meant to direct customers to one of the geniuses with the laptop rather than sorting their problem herself, she replied that everyone was busy inside the store. By this time 3 of the people in the queue had already left and it was me and another patient guy dying to meet one of the busy geniuses with the laptop. Unfortunately, I also lost my patience and left to come back at a later stage when there were more useless busy geniuses in the store serving themselves on their laptop whilst the door lady was helping everyone in the long queue. I still cant figure out why these reviews dont have a ZERO star rating.

Extremely poor customer service. Drove to Indro (45min travel time), entered store and booked an appointment. Returned 10mins before appointment, was asked to sit and informed someone would help me shortly. 30 minutes passed and I asked a staff member if someone was going to help me. I was informed they were extremely busy (only 1 customer in the entire store) and that their manager was having a break, and is due back in 5 minutes. I informed the young lady my appointment was at 1:30pm, young lady responded saying they had been busy and was told to sit and wait. Waited another 20 minutes, no assistance and no further correspondence. Observed the Manager casually enter the store and go about other business. Another 15 minutes passed I got up and walked out. Service was rude and abrupt from the young lady welcoming people into the store.
