The manager was extremely rude, shouting and aggressive when I questioned why I was charged more than the cashier had quoted. I was belittled when he said can't I even see the sign clearly stating there was a surcharge for all payments with cards, (no I hadn't seen it and assumed I'd be charged the total that the cashier had told me). I was refused when I asked for a refund on my card so I could pay cash instead. I'm a small woman of 150 cm and his intimidating manner did leave me shaken. He ended up shoving a gold coin at me and said "There, are you happy now!" All whilst an elderly lady right behind me was also charged over her quoted price and clearly confused about being Informed of a card surcharge after the sale, rather than prior. I left the store and was standing in the corridor searching my contacts on my phone when the manager left his shop and started gesticulating at me saying, "There's the exit, your blocking everyone". (I wasn't blocking anyone, there was plenty of room and nobody near me at all.) I've seen this behaviour many times from a few unsavoury types at marion but was rather caught off guard to be verbally abused by a store manager/owner. Just to warn others, they have a minimum spend of $5 for card, they have a surcharge for all card payments, they will quote a different price than the surcharged total so you'll need to figure that out yourself before deciding how you'll pay. You will be treated with hostility just for questioning why you were charged more than the quoted amount. You'll be refused a refund if you accidently proceed with your purchase that costs more than the total quoted. I had deliberately gone there to support small business, I encourage people to find another small grocer who values his customers.
