I visited Big W Doncaster last Tuesday looking for some small gifts to give to my Grade 6 students about to graduate. A lovely lady asked if she could help. Her name is Violet. I explained what I was looking for and she helped. She also offered me a couple of small books as a give away to children. I was very pleased and said I came from a small Primary school in the Yarra Valley (Yarra Junction PS) and have the role of Librarian there. She offered me a few more books and again I was very grateful and thanked her. Later that morning I returned to the store and she approached me - she asked if I could wait for a minute - which I did. When she came back she had been given permission to give me more books as gifts for the Prep students when they come into the Library. I want you to know how much I value her and the Store Manager - Sarah's thoughtfulness and going beyond to make a difference to some lovely little students. And the best part - this was done with nothing to gain - Yarra Junction is a fair distance from Doncaster and possibly not on our families normal shopping spots. Thank you Violet - I hope you will give her well deserved recognition.
