Next week, the residents of Western Melbourne will have a place more, to shop all they need for home in the first store of furniture retailer, Hunting For George, at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne.
The brand’s first experience store was designed by Melbourne-based Therefore Studio, and represents the unity of practicality and modern design.
It was the idea of management of the shopping centre to host this well known online retailer. Centre manager, Ryan Ling says - We love engaging with our customers. As an online retailer we don’t have that face-to-face contact so we thrive on the opportunity to cut through and talk to our audience and hear what they have to say in exciting new ways .
The brand, founded by two sisters, flourished as an online business, although the initial idea was to open their own bricks and mortar shop. However, the lack of money stopped them at doing so. Today, their dreams are coming true, as once only a digital space, became mini shopping paradise for furniture lovers in the heart of Western Melbourne.
The new store features many different backgrounds that will be used to create varying scenes within the retail adventure, such as parts of apartment or garden within the space to make the shopping experience more easy, but more interesting as well.
Brand announced many creative in-store services and events in the future in order to give chance to all it’s customers to interact and engage. There will be book launches, table setting and wreath making workshops, design studio and much more.
Founders of the brand say they are more than excited about the store opening because they will, finally, have the chance to meet in person all of those people who have been giving them their trust in the last few years and who were supporting their efforts and creativity.
We love engaging with our customers. As an online retailer we don’t have that face-to-face contact so we thrive on the opportunity to cut through and talk to our audience and hear what they have to say in exciting new ways – owner Jo Harris said.
The store will welcome all the visitors from October through January 2018.
About the brand
Seven years ago, sisters Lucy Glade-Wright and Jo Harris launched the online store Hunting for George in Melbourne. At the beginning, they were selling small selection of products, but today the brand offers homewares, accessories, gifts and furniture from a variety of designers and manufacturers, as well as items from their own collection. Every year, Lucy and Jo help affirmation of young artists via project called the Hunting Collective. Brand puts a lot of time in this project documenting the artists to help tell their story and reach as many people as they can.
